1 injured after home explosion in DeKalb County DEKALB COUNTY, Ill. — A home in DeKalb County was destroyed and a woman was injured after an explosion on Tuesday afternoon.Crews from the Paw Paw Fire Protection District were working the scene in the 5800 block of Goble Road and confirmed the explosion to WGN-TV News. Vigil held Tuesday for 6-year-old boy fatally stabbed in apparent hate crime PLAINFIELD, Ill. — The Plainfield community gathered on Tuesday evening to remember and honor the life of a 6-year-old Palestinian-American boy who was killed over the weekend in what prosecutors said was a hate crime.The vigil on Tuesday night not only honored Wadea Al-Fayoume but showed a united front in rejecting hate. Not just a lump: 5 breast cancer signs many people don't know about but should (NEXSTAR) -- Most people know that a lump could be a tell-tale sign of breast cancer, but other common symptoms may fly under the radar. That's according to a recent consumer survey commissioned by the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center (OSUCCC). The survey found that while 93% of adults questioned identified a lump as a potential sign of breast cancer, less than half recognized several other symptoms of the disease. Over 1,000 people were polled online or via phone from Sept. 22-24 for the study.    Breast cancer rates are rising. The original ruling - which was on a public information request for certain contents of an officer’s personnel file, according to Austin Police Association President Thomas Villarreal - came down during a September city council meeting. City council was discussing the Austin Police Oversight Act during that meeting, and the mayor and council discussed the ruling in executive session. Tractor fatally rolls over operator in central Minnesota, authorities say WATKINS, Minn. — A central Minnesota man was killed Sunday when he was run over by a tractor he had been operating.Matthew Mathies, 59, of Watkins, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office.The incident occurred shortly after 1 p.m. Sunday. The Stearns County Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call reporting that a male had been run over by a tractor at 14817 143rd Avenue in Luxemburg Township, just north of Watkins.When deputies arrived they found Mathies lying on his side in the yard, according to the release.Mathies had been attempting to hook a wagon up to the rear of his tractor and corn picker combination when the tractor began to roll forward down a slight decline. Mathies tried to jump onto the tractor to prevent it from rolling into a shed on the property. St. Louis County Council passes tax freeze for seniors ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – Senior citizens living in St. Louis County will see a tax freeze on their property taxes starting next year. County council members voted to approve the freeze this evening, with certain conditions attached to the bill.County council members said during Tuesday's meeting they are working together to find compromises to get seniors relief in the form of a tax freeze.Some of those compromises include a $550,000 cap, raising the age for eligible seniors to 67, and adding a sunset clause to the bill, meaning the council can decide to change the bill at any point.Not everyone agrees with passing the bill.
