But a new study by professional resume builder Resume.io shows that the feat of finding a well-paying role straight out of school isn’t impossible — you just have to know where to look. (AP) — Dozens of people who apparently were smuggled into the United States were found working and living in “horrible” conditions at an illegal marijuana plant in California's Central Valley, authorities said Thursday.Deputies served a search warrant Wednesday afternoon at a site on unincorporated land near the city of Merced and discovered the operation. (BCN) -- A nonprofit organization in Burlingame in San Mateo County is seeking a new home for a 9-year-old male pig named Professor Truffles. According to the Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA (PHS/SPCA) in an email Thursday, Professor Truffles was entrusted to them after its previous owners, who were changing residence, were unable to take the pig with them. "We are committed to finding him a new loving home with experienced pig owners where he will be kept as a pet, not a source of food," PHS/SPCA spokesperson Buffy Martin Tarbox said. (KRON) -- A San Rafael man was arrested Thursday night after he allegedly invaded a homeless woman's tent and fired a gun. San Rafael Police Department officers booked Eli Weston Harald, 33, into a Marin County jail on several felony charges. The tent invasion and shooting happened at a homeless encampment set up in a parking lot near the Falkirk Cultural Center, police said. Just before 4:30 a.m. on July 22, Harald tried to get into a woman's tent, police said. "A female victim in the tent began blowing a whistle to try and stop the suspect from breaking in. Another person sleeping in their vehicle witnessed what was happening and turned on their headlights, and drove toward the suspect to stop the attack," SRPD wrote. "The suspect backed away from the tent and then fired a single gunshot. After the shot was fired, the suspect and another occupant fled in a gray pickup truck," SRPD wrote. Traffic along a portion of Interstate 70 halted Friday morning after a construction crane crashed onto the eastbound part of the road in Washington County, Maryland.Officials with the Maryland Department of Transportation said the agency has been working on a bridge replacement project located over Crystal Falls Drive.A crane in that area fell onto the roadway at roughly 9 a.m., closing the stretch of I-70 around mile marker 32.Maryland Sate Police and fire departments worked to redirect traffic from I-70 to Routes 66 and 40 to ease the traffic impact caused by the fallen crane. State troopers said all lanes reopened about four hours after the closure began.
