After trading down in the fourth round, the Vikings used the 134th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft to select cornerback Jay Ward from Louisiana State.After trading down in the third round on Friday, the Vikings did it again on Saturday, sending the 119th overall pick to Kansas City for the No. 134th pick and a fifth-rounder in the 2024 draft.With the 119th overall pick, the Chiefs chose Virginia Tech cornerback Chamarri Conner.Ward, 22, finished 2022 with 60 total tackles, one interception and a fumble recovery. (NEWS10) -- Lebanon Valley Speedway was scheduled to have its 71st season opener on Saturday, April 29 at 6 p.m. However, that has been cancelled due to overnight rain, wind and cool weather. The season is now set to start next Saturday, May 6 with a $3,500 to win Modified feature. An SUV and a fire truck crashed near a fire station in Aurora and both drivers were taken to the hospital.Both driver's of the vehicles were transported to local emergency rooms. A 3rd patient was treated and released on the scene. The incident is currently under investigation by APD. Homicide investigators with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department are looking into the circumstances that led to a man being shot to death on Friday, and they believe that the shooting may be gang related. Deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded to reports of a gunshot victim in the 11900 block of 162nd Street in Norwalk around 4 p.m. A Hispanic man in his mid 50s was found next to a park bench suffering from several gunshot wounds to his upper torso, according to LASD. Deputies and Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics performed life-saving measures, but the man succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The PurpleStride is a nationwide walk to help raise money and awareness to end pancreatic cancer, and this year’s Santa Monica edition of the event is expected to see 2,000 attendees. The walk began at the Santa Monica Pier at 10 a.m. Members of the community who have been impacted by pancreatic cancer say that the walk means everything to them and that it brings comfort to patients and family members. “Whatever challenge you’re going through, whether it’s cancer or the death of a loved one, there’s hope and we’re all in this together,” said Jean Trebek, the wife of late Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek, who died of pancreatic cancer. Jake Haener will have a familiar face in the New Orleans Saints quarterback room.Haener, the San Ramon Valley High product by way of Fresno State, was a fourth-round selection by the New Orleans Saints Saturday in the NFL Draft, No. 124 overall. He will compete to back up Derek Carr, another former Fresno State quarterback whom Haener considers a mentor.Haener told reporters in New Orleans he has used Carr as a “sounding board” over the years and that he spoke to Carr on the phone following the selection.Carr signed a four-year contract worth a maximum of $150 million with the Saints after being released following an eight-year career with the Raiders.
