New satellite releases first images of global ozone (KXAN) -- As technology improves, our ability to observe the world improves with each new satellite that blasts off to orbit.Meteorologist Nick Bannin spoke with Larry Flynn, a research scientist with NOAA's Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS) about NOAA's brand new 'NOAA-21 Satellite' that's continuing to build on earth observation of satellites prior, but with even more detail.Total ozone measured by the OMPS NM on February 17, 2023. Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s Nike film 'Air' set to close SXSW, reports say AUSTIN (KXAN) — The 2023 South by Southwest Film & TV Festival is about to take a big jump.Amazon plans to premiere "Air," a film about Nike's Air Jordan shoe collaboration with Michael Jordan, according to Variety. "The movie will screen to the public for the first time at SXSW as the festival’s closing night film on March 18," Variety reports. Power outages in the Capital Region reach 100K amid blizzard ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A major winter storm has caused tens of thousands of residents to lose power throughout the Capital Region and Hudson Valley. Between National Grid, NYSEG, and Central Hudson, about 80,000 people across the area were without power as of 9 a.m. on Tuesday. The city is in a snow emergency as the North Country and Capital Region endure 8 to 12 inches of snowfall - potentially as much as 12-to-16 - from Monday night into Wednesday morning.
