Three People Dead in Multi-Vehicle Crash on North Gene Autry Trail [Palm Springs, CA] Three-Vehicle Collision Near Salvia Road Left Multiple FatalitiesPALM SPRINGS, CA (September 5, 2023) – Sunday afternoon, three people were killed in a multi-vehicle crash on North Gene Autry Trail.The fatal collision happened just before 3:00 p.m. between Salvia Road and Via Escuela. Police said high winds in the area kicked up sand, causing poor visibility in the area.Based on the initial investigation, two northbound vehicles on North Gene Autry Trail slowed down due to the “blowing sand”. However, a third vehicle failed to slow down and collided with one of the first vehicles.Unfortunately, the first responders declared the driver and the two passengers inside the third car dead at the scene.
