(AP) — Steele Venters scored 27 points and buried a go-ahead 3-pointer with 16 seconds remaining to rally Eastern Washington to an 81-74 victory over Washington State on Tuesday night in the first round of the NIT.Venters, the player of the year in the Big Sky Conference, sank 9 of 18 shots from the floor with four 3-pointers for the Eagles (23-10), who advance to play the winner of the Wednesday’s game between Youngstown State and Oklahoma State. Venters was fouled with four seconds left and the Eagles up 77-74. He missed the free throw but grabbed the rebound with all four of his teammates in the backcourt. On 13 March, the European Commission published its annual report on the Safety Gate, the European Rapid Alert System for dangerous non-food products. The report covers alerts notified during 2022, and the responses given by national authorities. Health risks linked to chemical substances was the most frequent type of risk notified, which was found also in a wider variety of products. For the second consecutive year, toys and cars top the list of most notified product categories.Main findings of the reportIn 2022, authorities from the 30 participating countries of the Safety Gate network (EU member states, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein) reacted to 2,117 alerts with 3,932 follow-up actions. A sex offender parolee was arrested for the alleged sexual assault of a woman inside a McDonald's bathroom in Riverside on Sunday.The suspect was identified as Terrell Dante Adams, 40, by the Riverside Police Department.Police say Adams is a registered sex offender who was on state parole for charges of kidnapping with intent to commit rape. He is also believed to be homeless.Officers responded to reports of a sexual assault at a McDonald’s restaurant located near Magnolia and Hole Avenues.Adams had allegedly entered the women’s restroom and confronted a female victim as she was exiting a bathroom stall, police said. He allegedly blocked her from leaving the restroom, then sexually assaulted her, officials said.The victim resisted and made enough noise to gain the attention of others nearby.
