Published Mon, 23 Dec 2024 16:30:56 GMT
PHOENIX — The only thing Alex Cobb will regret about this season is how it ended. At 35 years old, in his 12th major-league season, Cobb was a first-time All-Star. He came one out away from a no-hitter. He threw more innings than any season since 2018, and was about as effective as any time since, too. Those are the things Cobb will reflect on this offseason. But Tuesday night? Forced from his pivotal start against the D-backs in the third inning, unable to grind through his impinged hip any longer?“It was tough to go home,” Cobb said.He was placed on the injured list Wednesday, ruling him out for the remainder of the regular season. Should the Giants make the postseason, Cobb would potentially be an option, but those are increasingly long odds after dropping four of their past five and, now, without their No. 2 starter. Top prospect Kyle Harrison, who was optioned off the roster last week, was re-added in Cobb’s place and will “likely be a part of our plans...US government will relaunch free COVID tests by mail

Tuesday’s news that Bijou Phillips filed for divorce from Danny Masterson came as a shock to many, even though his prison sentence — 30 years to life — means that he’s been geographically removed from the day-to-day life of the former actor and their 9-year-old daughter.Still, Phillips publicly stood by her husband through his arrest on multiple rape charges. She also attended every day of his two trials and reportedly let out an anguished sob when a jury in the second trial found him guilty on two of three counts of rape. But one report says that the divorce filing may be less a statement about Phillips’ feelings about her husband and more about the couple’s need to protect their assets. Another report said that the Church of Scientology could have played a role in her decision.Danny Masterson and his wife Bijou Phillips arrive for closing arguments in his second trial, Tuesday, May 16, 2023, in Los Angeles. Masterson is charged with raping three...Hershey Felder’s one-night ‘Great American Songbook’ show will benefit TheatreWorks
