DENVER (KDVR) -- While Denver Nuggets fans are gearing up for a possible first-ever NBA Championship win on Monday night, the Denver Police Department is preparing for postgame celebrations. As the department has learned in years past, Colorado fans can get rowdy while celebrating their team's championship win. Last year the Colorado Avalanche won the Stanley Cup in Tampa, Florida but officers were busy responding to disturbance calls downtown after the game.In the years the Denver Broncos won the Super Bowl, massive crowds of fans flocked to the heart of the city for the parades, and crowd control was a challenge for police. The Avs won Game 7 of the 2001 Stanley Cup Final to win the best-of-seven series and it was chaotic around d...Woman arrested in connection to vandalism at St. Timothy Catholic Church in SW Miami-Dade

A grassroots organization is hoping to change the conversations surrounding the future of Ontario place by creating an alternative plan they hope the Ford government will consider.“We’ve come out with a vision that really links Ontario Place at one end of the Ontario Line, with the Ontario Science Centre at the other end of the Ontario Line,” said Ken Greenberg, Ontario Place for All steering committee member. “It’d really be a missed opportunity if we suddenly filled it with private attractions, with steep paywalls, that have nothing to do with Ontario. ” The plan from advocacy group Ontario Place for All would not include the proposed private, mega spa which is expected to be located on the West Island of Ontario Place. The province has signed a nearly century-long deal with luxury operator Therme Group for the creation of the multi-million-dollar new attraction. Instead of a spa, some of the ideas the group wants the space to be used for is a renewed...Tony Awards kick off with plenty of athletic Broadway razzle-dazzle, despite writers’ strike

NEW YORK (AP) — Tony Awards host Ariana DeBose opened a blank script backstage before dancing and leaping her way to the stage as the main show’s telecast kicked off Sunday, seizing the moment after the Hollywood writers’ strike left Broadway’s biggest night without words but with plenty of razzle-dazzle.An exciting, hectic opening number down the aisle gave a jolt of electricity to what is usually an upbeat, safe and chummy night. The strike by the Writers Guild of America has left the storied awards show honoring the best of musical theater and plays to rely on spontaneity in a new venue far from the theater district. Before the pre-show began, DeBose revealed to the audience the only words that will be seen on the teleprompter: “Please wrap up.” Later in the evening, virtually out of breath after her wordless performance, she thanked the labor organizers for allowing a compromise.“I’m live and unscripted. You’re welcome,” she said. “So to anyone who may have tho...Chicago police seek to identify male who sexually assaulted woman at gunpoint in West Town
